Spectre (2015)

Casino Royale and Skyfall are my two favorite Bond movies. Unoriginal I know, but whether you like Daniel Craig as Bond or not, you can't deny he has been an integral part of the series' highest points. Following the magnificent Skyfall, Spectre had some huge shoes to fill, and for the most part, it delivers exactly what you'd want. An attention-grabbing, tense opening fight scene, a lovely title sequence (whether the song is good is debatable), and an elaborate sinister plot surrounding James Bond that puts him up against his inner demons more than ever. Does it surpass Casino Royale or Skyfall? I don't think so, but as far as reintroducing the villainous organization SPECTRE into Bond canon after 40+ years, the film hits the nail on the head, pulls it back out, then slams it in even harder.

SPECTRE is revealed to have been affiliated with some of Bond's biggest threats - Mr. White, Le Chiffre, Raoul Silva - all under the control of one puppeteer, the head of SPECTRE and one of the most iconic villains of all time, Ernst Stavro Blofeld. It isn't much of a spoiler, as speculation was rampant ever since the first trailer (and hell, when the name of the movie was released). What's important is its execution, and Spectre leaves breadcrumbs for you to follow all the way through the belly of the beast. Not only is Bond under SPECTRE's crosshairs, but MI6 itself is experiencing a merger led by Max Denbeigh (Andrew Scott) who wants to eliminate the 00 division and focus solely on global intelligence. It's apparent early on that Blofeld has eyes everywhere, and while he works primarily in the shadows (Christoph Waltz only having 20 or so minutes of screen time), he poses a looming threat to Bond because of his sheer cunning and a past secret that unravels itself when the two finally meet.

If I Stay - Review (2014)

I'm going to make it fast tbh. I'm extremely disappointed with this movie. i couldn't wait to watch this movie. ut when this movie couldn't make it into my theater, I was a sad potato. The movie fails to express any real, palpable emotions. In some defining parts of the movies, where you should start getting some feelings, I rather felt annoyed by awful sound effects, terrible acting and depressing transitions.

Chloe Grace Moretz is one of the best actress on her generation, she is beautiful and very talented. But in this movie she is very disappointed me. And the others acting were MEH.  It's not that she didn't stay true to the book, she just didn't act very well at all.  The actor who played Adam was terrible as well.

I love the book, the book is very weepy, but the movie is not that much.. It's very disappointed. The book is way better than this movie. And when they cast Chloe i thought she would be really good. and The CGI was MEh as well. Such as Adam's band not being called "Shooting Star"; a lot of Adam trying to get into the ICU to see Mia being cut; the film trying to instill a bit more hope in Mia's family surviving the car crash than there is in the book, as well as more drama in Adam and Mia's relationship; and then there are general cuts you recognize had to be done. Things like us seeing how Mia and Kim became friends; seeing Kim's mom; the lead up to Mia's grandpa taking her to her Julliard audition; and a lot of the back stories including Willow's and her grandparents.

John Wick - review

This is a welcome surprise. Who would have thought Keanu could play such a cool character with that much conviction? He does a perfect job here, displaying the right attitude and making sure every shot hits its target. It's all very simple. He's a grieving widower, and one arrogant and spoiled jerk comes and messes with him. By doing so, Wick is forced out of retirement because someone has decided to ruin his late wife's legacy.

First of all, if you don't like violent, revenge driven crime dramas, this movie is not for you, so don't post about it. If you are like 80% of the rest of the world, you are going to LOVE this movie. Slick editing and direction make it beautiful to watch. Incredible choreography make it fun, and Keanu makes it real!

I am not a big Reeves fan but you do not have to be to enjoy this film. Unique fight scenes and a talented supporting cast made this film a treat. This is a film to enjoy on the big screen. Music selection also made various scenes more enjoyable. Just a well groomed picture with a load energy and smart dialog. You will not be disappointed.

Fury - Review (2014)

I watched this movie on midnight show last Saturday. I'm very curious about this movie. Brad Pitt in colaboration with David Ayer and those young Hollywood stars. Even though there have been tons of films that told the story of world war 2 in different ways. However this was the first one in my opinion that captured the brutality of war bad showing how it effects not used to dealing with the first hand experience that comes with the violence of war.

The acting here is great from everyone. I think that the standout of the entire cat is Brad Pitt. He gives a very strong performance and his character is very commanding and is one of those characters who never gives up. Logan Lerman also does a great job playing Norman and his character is one that doesn't want to kill people, but he does it, because it is necessary. Jon Bernthal, Michael Pena, Jason Issacs, and Scott Eastwood all deliver great performances as well. Even Shia Labouf is great in this film. The cast also share some great chemistry between each other.

Two Nights Stand - Review (2014)

This movie wasn't good or bad, it was just okay. For starters, it was awkward watching a movie about 20-somethings having sex, when they looked 16 or younger.It takes guts to make a movie based on dialogues and only dialogues. Before Midnight ,Before Sunset and Before Sunrise is a brave attempt in following the trend. Two Night Stand was almost there but loses the battle thanks to over-the-top performance and weak screenplay.

The major bad thing about this is that the movie feels overly romantic that the comedies don't feel funny. The screenplay just doesn't seem to develop or build up any thing that can really crack a laugh. There's virtually no practical joke or slapstick anywhere in this movie. This makes the romance, already quite a well developed part, stand out even more. Actually the romance parts feel more dominant that it kind of make the comedy part feels like it's just some kind of color variation to the story.

Camp X Ray - Review (2014)

The directorial debut of Peter Sattler is infused with a strong moral ambiguity that will make you question your own beliefs. Anchored by two magnificent performances by Kristen Stewart and Peyman Moaadi, Camp X-Ray is a flawed yet very affecting portrait of a relationship that develops in the most unlikeliest of places.

Camp X-Ray tells the story of a soldier named by Amy Cole, who is assigned to watch detainees at Guantanamo Bay. Her whole outlook on the military and life are changed when she befriends one of the detainees named Ali Amir.

I thought I would not like the movie because of the hard theme. But surprise, the theme doesn't bother me at all but it's still not my favorite subject. I love how the Sattler chose to have this friendship theme between the woman guard and the prisoner. It's touching in every aspect and it's very intense.

The performance by Stewat and Peyman are wonderful. I love their chemistry. Stewart could really handle close up emotion. Peyman is my new favorite actor now. Before I watch ind this movie I watched The Separation. He was good.

Camp X Ray has a lot of flaws. But it's Sattler's directorial debut. I can see him becomes an auteur director one day. Mark my works. He is one of the dedicated film makers. And He is not aafraidto offered Stewart, the franchise actress, to do this movie.

Obvious Child - Review (2014)

A twenty-something comedienne's unplanned pregnancy forces her to confront the realities of independent womanhood for the first time.

This movie was incredible. Jenny Slate is wonderfully relatable and real, and the film somehow managed to dodge every romcom trope I had expected of it. The premise didn't really grab me, a young female comedian finds herself pregnant after a one night stand. Meh, I assumed it would avoid any real commitment into discussing the reality of abortion, or the terror that can often come with the discovery of having a potential human inside of you.

Obvious Child is a very ballsy film just for the fact that it deals with abortion which is such a hot button topic nowadays. However, unlike some films, it doesn't take a side. It presents abortion and the effect a decision like that can have on a woman in a very realistic fashion while delivering a very sweet romantic comedy.

The Judge - Review (2014)

Robert Downey Jr is a lawyer who has an estranged relationship with his father who is also a Judge, played by Robert Duvall,. He visits his home town to attend his mother's funeral, but an unexpected turn of events causes him to stay and fight the most important case of his life.

With brilliant performances from Robert Downey Jr and Robert Duvall, their battle is a joy to watch. Robert Downey Jr plays Hank, the son with his usual quick witted, cocky and charismatic style is sure to be a crowd pleaser, and Robert Duvall's very humanistic performance as the bitter, stubborn father makes for a wonderful pairing of adversaries. Their outward contention is balanced well with their suppressed love for each other as father and son and the film is a wonderful emotional ride. The rival lawyer played by Billy Bob Thornton was also a nice surprise.

The Giver - Review (2014)

Meryl and Jeff Bridges are here. looks pretty promosing, I read the book. the book was published before every fantasy Y/A were came. But, when I watched the trailer it looks not that excited. I was thinking it was going to be another flop. And I'm right.

Have you ever dreamed of a perfect world, where there's no racial, ethnic, religious, political conflicts, no violence, no war, no hunger, no pain, no suffering, no tragedy? A world where everything that is needed are all provided for you and no one wants more for anything? I believe that this is the world we all yearn for. What if we could achieve this just by forsaking our feelings, our emotions, our free will and individuality? Is it worth it to deny the extraordinary diversity of human experience, for the sake of peace? This is the premise of The Giver. It's interesting, intelligent, intriguing and thought-provoking at the same time.

Actually, I'm really getting tired of the whole dystopian future theme that has been smothering the movie industry recently. There are so many movies out there that aren't "based" on books, but steal multiple aspects from several books in order to create a genuinely interesting and somewhat original film.

What If - Review (2013)

I want to watch some light movie with a lot of romance and comedy. So I chose to watch What if. I love Harry Potter and Daniel Radcliffe So, I was squeeing when I watched this movie lol

Daniel Radcliffe plays the lead role in this film that seeks to find whether men and women can be platonic friends. The woman in question is played by Zoe Kazan. The film is set between Toronto and Dublin - yes Toronto, which usually impersonates various US cities in movies with limited budgets.

Stewing over a recent breakup, Wallace (Radcliffe) works at a textbook company while living in his sister's attic (an improvement over the cupboard under the stairs, at least). He's primed for romance when he encounters Chantry (Kazan), spewing whimsy and animated sketches in her wake. Sparks fly only to be put out when Chantry mentions her boyfriend and asks if they can just be friends.

The Homesman - Review (2014)

I haven't posted anything for a week. very busy week and I;m too lazy to go online and writing. And finally Sunday. I watched many drama movie this week. I LOVE IT. No more action movies since it;s getting closer to award season.

so I;m going to write the movie about The Homesman first. This is very iinterestingmovie with a lot of big names. And my queen Hillary Swank is in the lead. I was very excited about this movie before Cannes with great casts and all. But when i watched I was disappointed. I don't why, maybe because I put too much expectation. It could be really big movies. And I think it proves me again, even thought we have awards winning stars in movie that doesn';t always mean the movie is going to be great. because Homesman prove it to me.

Only Lovers Left Alive review (2013)

My favorites were int his movie. Tilda Swinton, Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowsa, Anton Yelchin. So why not? the movie sounds creepy at first. with those creepy stars it makes it more and more interesting. Only Lovers Left Alive is kind of an anti-vampire movie. It embraces aspects of the vampire genre like how vampires can't go out in sunlight, have super fast reflexes, and live forever. However, it moves away from some of the silly aspects. Jim Jarmusch does a good job of setting up how a vampire could survive in the world. He takes his time and shows us instead of tells us

As a matter of fact, rarely does one find a film with such romantic awareness about the world coming to an end. It is as if the film knew it was the last love film on Earth. The narrative is definitely lacking in certain areas and when you consider Only Lovers Left Alive is a movie about vampires, we expect more than we end up with, in respect to bloodsucker behaviour, but what saves this film more than a little are the brilliant performances by our main two, Adam and Eve, Anton Yelchin's Ian, and the short but destructive appearance from Eve's sister Ava (Mia Wasikowska).

Tracks (review) (2013)

I watched this movie few months ago. I like it, and I feel in love with Mia W in this movie. She is a great actress but I really like her from this movie.

Tracks is the true story of Robyn Davidson, a 27 year old woman from Brisbane who in 1977 decided to embark on a 1,677 mile trek from Alice Springs to the Indian Ocean, crossing the Australian outback. She did it mainly alone, aside from four camels and a faithful dog. She was helped a little by a photographer who organised financial backing for her trip from National Geographic magazine and with whom she had brief romantic involvement on her trip, while she was also assisted on the way by some Aboriginals who guided her though sacred lands of theirs. The trip in total took nine months.

The Maze Runner Rewiew (2014)

I know it's been a very long time since I posted anything or even anything about movie review. And last week i watched this movie. Finally, you don;t know how excited I am for this movie. I was afraid this movie will be another flop with the post apocalypse theme and all. but thank;s God they do good at box office and critics.

The appeal of the The Maze Runner for its billion dollar genre is how straightforward everything it seems. It (thankfully) doesn't begin with a voice-over narration, because indeed it's another high concept that designs a world as a mind-bending game. The film already faults for spilling too much rules and details, but when things starts actually moving, the action becomes marvelous, with large scaled, suspense driven set pieces that easily makes it worth the price admission. The worst of it however is when it finally unfolds all of the hidden secrets, compromising much of the potential of this ride. Still, it's pretty hard to deny the excitement of the experience alone. Treating it as another solid action film might be enough for a while.

The Rover (2014)

I'm curious about this movie, this movie was one of the movie that got good reviews and buzz, maybe because the former Edward Cullen was here. I was Twilight fam, eventhought O'm more Kristen Stewart fan. But i;m curious about those big franchise actors after the franchise is over. Daniel Radcliffe did great, Emma Watson is more on working to get critical acclaims, and Ruper Grint he was on Ed Sheeran video clip lol. Keira did an amazing job, Orlando is being Orlando, etc, etc. And now I'm on the watch of Twilight former stars.

So Cannes this year, this movie was made last year, with David Michod directed it (Animal Kingdom) and Guy Pearce (Brad Pitt's look alike with very underrated reviews. Trust me Mr Pearce is amazing actor). Reading the synopsis it feels like Mad Max, the after apocalypse movie based on the dessert on Australia, and the newest Mad Max will release next year.

The story is about the guy who lose everything he once loved, and the only thing he has is his car, and when someone stole it he met the robber. It's very intense story. I can't stand the violence in this movie. It's not my cup of tea, I love drama, but it's too dramatic. my father loves this movie.

By dramatic I don't mean over dramatic. David Michod is very brave to tell this story but IMO there is very little dialogue and I don;t like it. I;m the queen of quoting movies.  Like I said before too many violence, and I think it's unnecessary. This movie has great character (Eric and Rey) it's about their journey, I wish they will stay to it. I love the building characters of Eric and Rey. And how the relationship grow into something. first they are enemy and then they before this awkward partner. The story it self is interesting, not as good as Animal Kingdom but definitely worth watching

Do I like the movie? not really. But it's not my cup of tea. I like the characters more. This movie has good scenery. The story is interesting if you like western post apocalypse movie you should watch this movie.

Boyhood - Review

FINALLY, FINALLY!!! I have watched Boyhood. I wondered about this movie since Sundance and Berlin Film Festival this year, with Linklater won a Silver Bear Prize. 12 years of making. WOW. amazing reviews, Oscar Buzz, Ethan Hawke, Richard Linklater, that young boy, Patricia Arquette, etc. I just couldn't wait to watch this movie. Finally I have watched it now. And I'm, so proud.

From the concept is very interesting, it's like a documentary movie but it was scripted. 12 years of making, very dedicated actors and crews. It's all paid off. So this is my review as I said before, Linklater is the master of making real, simple, realistic movies with a lot of dialogue, less music and all. He doesn't want to manipulate the audience with amazing scores. Some complain about this, ME on the other hand I enjoyed it. My sister doesn't enjoy this movie, she said it was over long and not as good as the critics and bloggers say. But I really like it, it feels like watching my brother gew up in front of my eyes. I love the details on how Linklater shows what year it is, like the music, the game, the language, and all.

Ellar Coltrane as Mason is very magnificent. He is terrific, but I enjoy the first half of his charater, nearing the end of the movie I didn't like his character that much. But Ellar could play it amazingly. I love how Mason grows up, we first see him as this young boy who enjoy his life until to the point when he wonders what should he has done. Everyone has been on Mason shoes, we can;t deny it. Or if you are still very very young you will know you will be on Mason's shoes.

Across The Universe(2007)

I miss this movie, I think this is the first movie, I watched it by my self. the first movie that made me curious about movie festival. Because this was the first  I knew about Toronto International Film festival ( I was 7th Grade). Since that year I was obsessed with indie movies. And because of this movie I watched the award race for the first time. And it was very fun year. everything was very fresh for me. 2007 was the year of really good movies. And I chose the best year, and I'm very proud of it. I'm luck I have watched all of the movie from 2007. because yeah, everybody says 2007 was the best year of movies in last 10 years. from Into The Wild to Atonement. And I remember I watched Oscar for the first and i felt the excitement of it. Really really good memories.

Back to the movie. i like this movie, In my opinion this movie is very fresh and creative. This movie was all about The Beatles. I don't call my self as The Beatles fan, but I like their songs. and I have all of their albums. I have much older friends back then. So I watched this movie because of them. they like The Beatles, my dad loves The Beatles. So i tried to watch it. this movie was nominated for Golden Globe.

Grace of Monaco Review (2014)

Last year, when I heard about this movie I was so excited. I want to watch this movie. And when I heard the buzz that this movie would open Cannes 2014 made more and more excited. Directed by Olivier Dahan, the director behind La Vi en rose. Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly. Everything sounded great at first. And then here we had Cannes. Sad, they booed this movie at Cannes. Bad and negative reviews everywhere.

The problem with this movie is how they pushed it so hard. So we were really curious about it, we wanted to see it so bad. We love La Vi en rose. I love La Vie en rose. So of course I expected something like that. The problem with the overall story is that the relationship between Grace and the Prince isn't all that interesting. They actually spend little time with one another, due to the Prince's absorption with the crisis. There's a confusing sub-plot involving the Prince's sister, who appears to have betrayed Monaco, by passing state secrets to the French (having only seen the film once, I'm not exactly sure of what she was guilty of). The film's scenarists solution is to have Grace decide to conform to the Prince's wishes, by giving up her rebellious streak, and embracing her traditional role as dutiful wife and consort. Hence, considerable time is spent tracking Grace's movements in Paris, while on a big shopping spree.

Hercules 2014 Review

When I knew The Rock was in this movie, I knew I couldn't take this movie seriously. So, I went to see Hercules with little to no expectations. The main reason was that I needed some cheesy summer flick to laugh at, and the movie's trailer did promise this kind of stuff. Well, the movie did not disappoint - indeed, it was cheesy, but in such a self-aware way, that it falls out of the "so bad that it's good" category and gets into the "simply good" one. Irony is dominant through the whole 98 minutes, and there are plenty of minor and major plot twists, albeit not a single forced one. And the story is delivered in an entertaining way without any unnecessary melodrama or heroism - a nice change from most of Hollywood big-budget action flicks.

Sin City : A Dame To Kill For (2014)

First, I don't like a movie with too much violence. I still dont get it why the hell I chose this movie. I could'nt stand 300 and the first Sin City, so yeah when I watched this I bolted and then back again, stupid me I guess. LOL

A Dame to Kill For is the same type of movie as the first, but it is not executed quite as well. It may just be be cause the style lost some of its original appeal, but I thought it didn't live up to its predecessor. With that said, I still thought A Dame to Kill For was a great time at the movies. Everything about it was solid. It continued the action from the first and did not fail to keep me at the edge of my seat. And, Marv was his normal, b.a. self.
