I watched this on midnight show and no regret at all. And funny story my friend thought this movie was about Marvel's character lol. Didn't know this movie was director by the first timer. But it was amazing. This was an interesting film and has tension, a slick dialogue and good pace. Jake delivers a solid performance in a character that makes you pretty uncomfortable throughout the film.
The film starts with the premise of a young man struggling to find work, following the idea: "If you want something, go get it." While that may seem trite and uninteresting, the extra mile is taken here into making a very interesting and sometimes disturbing two hours. And Jake Gyllenhaal fits this role. I always thought he had this creepy psychopath personality.
Jake Gyllenhaal absolutely amazes me in this role. You simply cannot look aways from the screen, especially while he is talking. I would not be surprised if he wins the Oscar for best Actor. There are more than a few scenes in this movie that will give you chills. The story was very good as well, very well written movie. The acting from each role was good, but Gyllenhaal stole the show for sure.
I know this movie was not meant to be big movie or anything, but the spectacular acting by Gyllenhall mde this movie to be very strong. and the cinematography was really amazing too, he lighting and all. The story was pretty disturbing, but very original. Jake should get nominated for Best Actor, I know he is very humble and all. but he deserves it. he always does an amazing job. But there's already too crowded though :(
Lou bloom the character is very dark and unlikable that i felt he needed to die but he made me want to root for him like Walter white but more darkened very good acting with everyone and good performances that i forgot i was watching a movie but was there. This is the first I hate the lead role, sooo much lol. And the fact that Jake played that part made it harder to hate it. But he really did a good job
The supporters did a good job as well. all of them, but Jake totally stole the show. screenplay of this movie is also fantastic and I think it will get a nomination for that. There are some very intense moments in the movie especially in the last 30 minutes. Nightcrawler is one of my favorite movies of 2014 and I hope everyone has a chance to see this movie. And Jake Gyllenhaal's face int his movie makes me want to smack him so harddd, very creepy ugly, but it means he is succeeded righ lol....
