Cannes 2017 Winners

The Cannes Film Festival awarded its coveted Palme d’Or award to Ruben Ostlund’s Swedish comedy The Square on Sunday, while Sofia Coppola became only the second woman to win the best director award. Coppola won best director for The Beguiled, her remake of Don Siegel’s 1971 Civil War drama about a Union soldier hiding out in a Southern girls’ school. Hailed as Coppola’s most feminist work yet, the remade thriller told from a more female point of view stars Nicole Kidman and Kirsten Dunst, with Colin Farrell playing the wounded soldier.

Diane Kruger was named best actress and Joaquin Phoenix best actor as the festival celebrated its 70th anniversary. Kruger was honoured for her performance in Fatih Akin’s In the Fade. She played a German woman whose son and Turkish husband are killed in a bomb attack. Phoenix was recognized for his role in Lynne Ramsay’s thriller You Were Never Really Here, in which he played a tormented war veteran trying to save a teenage girl from a sex trafficking ring

For many, the actress’s memory might forever be tied to her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise—but to her most adoring fans, that was only a fraction of what made Carrie Fisher. In an industry that can often be repressive and hostile to women, especially those who continue to work past their 30s, Fisher and her biting wit stood firm for decades.

2017 Golden Globes Nominations: The Full List

Okay, like I said it always been more than a year since my last post. And I will start it with 2017 Golden Globes Nominations. There was lots of love for La La Land and Moonlight from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Some might agree, some might not (because I do think about that as well) Some even laughable and mind blowing. Here it is the full list

2015 Oscar Prediction - Best Director

After I made my random and "Sok Tau" Prediction about the best picture for next year Oscar Contender I'm going to make best Director release. because best picture won't happen with the director right? Here are my predictions for the Best Director prize at next year's Oscars, which could see previous nominees Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Mike Leigh, Rob Marshall, Bennett Miller, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Christopher Nolan factor into a race full of potential newbies. JC Chandor, Tim Burton, Richard Linklater (who looks like safest call at this point), James Marsh, Angelina Jolie, Wes Anderson have got Oscar love in other categories, but never here. All kind of shocking in a few cases, for sure...

But that all aside, who's in the lead? It's hard to tell given we haven't seen so many films, though even at this point it's hard to imagine Linklater and Iñárritu not factoring into this race, and all eyes are definitely on Jolie to become the first female nominee since Kathryn Bigelow won five years ago.

The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby TRAILER

I will love this movie, the wait I do for this movie. the concept is amazing the actors and the story sound good to me. And I can watch two of my favorite actors and the best actor right fall in love in movie. Chastain and McAvoy should get Oscar nomination for this movie. I have ghost bump every time I watch this trailer, and seeing Jessica Chastain's smile and movies always make me happy. SO I really want this movie in my eyes. Beside Weinsten is behind this movie. So finger cross for Jessica Chasatain

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

SO I watched this move yesterday after I read ton of good reviews of this movie and I'm curious. And OMG this is is really good movie. This movie is very strong, this movie sets a news standard for summer blockbuster. Very amazing movie, one of my top 5 movies of this year so far. i really like it..

The CGI is awesome, the story and plot is amazing. AND the combinations of the amazing acting by the actors. Andy Serkis is just spectacular as Caesar. He has this atmosphere about him. He deserves Oscar tho. The way he brings Cesar to life is amazing. So, excited to see the future career of this man. and Jason Clarke, I'd prefer Franco. But he is amazing in this movie, he give the character something.

The Fault in Our Stars

SO this the part of my movie review. I really love the book. I really love all of John Green's book. and I was waiting forever for this movie. the first time I was reading there would the film adaptation I was going nuts. My dreams came true. and I thought someone like Chloe Moretz, or someone younger would play as Hazel Grace. at first I didnt think Shai would kill it. but the she was the best part of the movie.
